A Q&A With Barbie Zelizer

“What we’re looking at is the various ways in which media practitioners are not able to do their jobs as they intend because of political interference,” Barbie Zelizer, Director of the Center for Media at Risk, tells Penn Today. “It’s not just one place geographically or just one platform, as in only journalism. Rather, it is the entire media environment that is at risk.”

So begins a recent interview with Zelizer as she outlines how media as a whole is threatened around the world, and what the Center’s mission is to combat that moving forward.
